Architectural Description
"A NT eclectic style building which affected by British colonial architecture. There are arcades found on both ground and first floors. It is possibly the only left red-brick historic village house in the New Territories. The building has a balcony protruded in the middle part of the front façade, thus it is also one of the few “Convex-plan” (or “Turtle-form”) NT eclectic style rural buildings. The building also possesses a number of classical elements including the semi-circular pediments, pairs of Tuscan columns, the dome on the roof and its flag pole, geometric motifs, parapet and cornice. The design is similar to the renowned Western mansion, Jessville on Pokfulam Road, Hong Kong Island which is an exception amongst New Territories’ vernacular architecture."
